Last year there were more sales for e-books than printed books. On March 5 this year, Barnes & Noble the world's largest chain of bookstores, purchased online E-book seller, Fictionwise. Chairman of the BN, William J Lynch, said: "The market was not that developed to date. We believe that it is a growth area expanded in the future. "
Many people like to buy and read e-books and e-zines through lightweight handheld readers today. Several companies have to propose innovative, independent e-book readers such as Amazon Kindle, Sony Reader, Hanlin eReader (aka Endless Ideas BeBook) etc. and these thin gadgets are elegant and can take people from the time of reading. Let's have a look at some of these players in this article.
E-books and E-Magazine: How Do They Work?
E-books can be of two types: those that can be read on a computer and those who require special devices to read. There are several formats for e-books including Adobe PDF, Microsoft LIT, Palm PDB, etc. To purchase an eBook, you go to the online vendor of e-book, pay and register your player for DRM (Digital Rights Management) protection, and download the ebook to the reader list. Since only the registered e-book reader can read this e-book, author and publisher are protected against piracy. The digital copy is not possible with DRM.
Popular E-book readers
There many reading devices available on the market, and most of them work with the electronic paper technology by E Ink Corporation.

2. Sony Reader
Sony Digital Book Reader is the popular e-book reader from Sony, and there have been three editions of this-PRS-500 PRS-505 and PRS-700.
The reader has a paper 600 x 800 pixel electronic display (EPD), similar to the Kindle, and the display is 8 levels of gray. PRS-700 edition, unlike other sports screen touch. The formats supported e-book include BBeB Book (Marlin from), TXT, RTF, ePub, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word (DOC). It supports JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP for images and MP3 and AAC for audio.
3. iRex iLiad
iRex iLiad, like the Kindle, Sony Reader, used screen and electronic paper arrives at 768 x 1024 (8 inch) resolution. It has 16 levels of gray screen.
With Wi-Fi, LAN, USB connectivity, or network with MyiRex an account, you can transfer e-books for the reader. The formats supported e-book include Adobe PDF, MOBI, PRC, HTML, and TXT.
4. Hanlin eReader
Hanlin eReader, known in various brand names around the world, like ideas Endless BeBook is a popular e-book reader. It offers a resolution of 600 x 800, Level 4 levels gray. It connects via USB.
Unlike other players mentioned above, this player supports almost all popular file formats for e-books, Adobe PDF, CHM, DJVU, DOC, ePub, FB2 HTM, LIT, MOBI, PPT, PRC, RTF, TXT, WOLF. It also supports archiving formats such as ZIP and RAR; formats images such as BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF and MP3 audio.
Conclusion
Most of these e-book readers come with E-Ink revolutionary technology developed by E Ink Corporation. This paper is a digital display, which gives the experience reading actual paper. With storage space for thousands of e-books and his ability to maintain battery power for thousands of page turns or several hours, the e-book readers may be regarded as mobile libraries. As they can not connect to certain networks to buy and download popular fiction and non-fiction sellers online e-book, they can provide a great reading experience when you're on a long journey distance.
